Death

It’s one of the maddening perversities of human psychology that we only notice we’re alive when we’re reminded we’re going to die, the same way some of us appreciate our girlfriends only after they’ve become exes. -Tim Kreider

This has been one of my primary takeaways over the past month. I have really come to appreciate my life, and the urgency to live my life to the fullest. I wish it didn’t need to come to this to force me out of my stupor. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Tim Kreider who wrote this quote is the man. He is the quintessential modern author: funny, honest, smart, succinct and relevant. He has a way of simplifying the complex and elevating the mundane. He writes a bunch of short essays. This quote is from one titled Reprieve, where he talks about his near death experience and the short lived impact it had on his perspective. Great read and very relevant to today. Read it!
